Elquis Castillo, MD is the founder of Gadsden Cancer Clinic, Hematology and Oncology Associates of Alabama, LLC. Since 1992, he has been instrumental in bringing advanced cancer treatment to the people of Northeast Alabama.
Dr. Castillo holds medical degrees from Tulane University and UACA, School of Medicine in San Jose Costa Rica. Before founding HOAA, he completed his post-doctoral fellowship at the Yale University Comprehensive Cancer Center. During his academic career, Dr. Castillo was awarded the Audrey Meyers Mars Award in Clinical Oncology and Tulane’s Outstanding Teaching Award.
Dr. Castillo is a clinical instructor for VCOM Medical School, a member of Gadsden Regional Medical Center’s board of directors, an officer in the Etowah County Medical Society and a member of the Etowah County Chamber of Commerce.
As a member of the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Dr. Castillo maintains close working relationships with other leading cancer researchers and practitioners across the country.
Dr. Castillo considers his medical career a calling and is grateful for the opportunity to impact the well-being of his patients and families.
